Elan's frame got some new metal
It's time to patch the holes!!! I bought the sheet metal 2.5'x4'(0.055") in the begining of summer - now I even don't remember the price... It wasn't expensive.
Top sheet for the frame suppose to have reinforcements, I plan to use some profiled steel later just to give it structural strength.
The patch was tacked in place and welded from both sides. I didn't weld it in one pace just to prevent excessive wrapping. Maybe it doesn't look perfect cosmetically, but strength wise it's good! And moister won't get in!
